Pelago's original intention was to provide the oceanographic community with a versatile, highly accurate and economical system.

A number of options are available for submersible and meteorological sensors. These may operate as single units or can be used in combined configurations, as the modular format of the Pelago system allows for multi-configurable data acquisition.
