Use Data to Transform Lives – Join Us as a Data Scientist - Are you passionate about using data to drive meaningful change?
At PCS, we're launching a brand-new data science function within our person-centred software team, and we’re looking for a talented Data Scientist to help shape how data improves care outcomes across the UK and beyond.
This is your chance to solve real-world problems and turn complex healthcare and operational data into powerful insights that directly impact thousands of lives.
Why This Role Matters
You’ll be at the heart of an ambitious data-driven transformation—pioneering predictive analytics, benchmarking, and machine learning in a purpose-led environment where the work you do every day makes a measurable difference.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead data exploration, hypothesis testing, and advanced statistical analysis to support product innovation and strategic decisions.
- Design and deploy robust benchmarking models across 200+ clinical and operational KPIs.
- Build predictive models (e.g., falls, infection risk) using Azure Machine Learning and the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Create scalable data pipelines and workflows using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Databricks.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to bring insights to life through Power BI dashboards and APIs.
- Ensure all models are explainable, ethical, and meet healthcare data privacy standards.
- Monitor, retrain, and improve models to ensure fairness and performance over time.
- Mentor junior colleagues and help establish a strong, ethical data science culture.
What You’ll Bring
- A strong background in data science, with experience in predictive modelling, trend analysis, and benchmarking.
- Hands-on experience with the Azure ML and data stack (AML, Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake).
- Advanced Python and SQL skills, with experience deploying supervised and unsupervised models.
- Solid statistical knowledge, particularly in benchmarking and data normalisation.
- The ability to translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with Power BI, model explainability tools (e.g., SHAP, LIME), and ethical AI principles.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of building trust across teams.
Bonus Points
- Experience in healthcare, social care, or SaaS environments.
Benefits:
- Contributory pension scheme
- Cycle-to-work scheme
- Employee discounts
- Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
- Time Off: 25 days' holiday
