Graduate Applied Research Engineer (ID: 6Jw5SYmK)

We’re looking for an Applied Research Engineer to improve the algorithms and models at the heart of our product. You’ll test new approaches, turn promising ideas into reliable services, and work with our product team to make sure the technology reflects their domain expertise.

We help organisations make better-informed decisions through due diligence. Our product is trusted by global organisations, and demand is growing as customers need accurate, timely insight in a changing risk and regulatory landscape.

What you’ll do

• Design, build and test experiments using machine learning models.
• Develop and deploy AI powered microservices using established design patterns.
• Use infrastructure as code tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation, to automate deployment and scaling.
• Evaluate candidate systems statistically against functional and non-functional requirements.
• Improve model accuracy, performance and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with product specialists and engineers to turn domain knowledge into effective technical solutions.
• Keep learning, testing ideas and improving how we work.

What you’ll bring

Strong Python skills and experience using Python to solve practical problems.
A sound understanding of statistics and algorithm optimisation.
Confidence working with command line tools in a Unix environment.
A rigorous, evidence-based approach to problem solving.
The ability to learn complex topics and apply what you’ve learned.
Careful attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication.
The initiative to work independently, adapt to changing priorities and solve problems without close supervision.
