Job Description

As a senior C# developer, You will join an established team of developers embarking on a rebuild and modernisation of our existing systems. You’ll be building and testing services and microservices in C#, working closely with the wider product team (product owners, scrum master, front-end developers, testers, TechOps) to build solid, high-performance data-driven applications for both B2C and B2B users. You will work with a cross-functional agile team to collaborate in short development sprints to build software that can make a real difference to our clients and their customers.

This role is remote working, with occasional travel to our offices.

Senior C# Developer Duties

Write clean, efficient, and scalable code that meets business and technical requirements
Build and manage connectivity (API endpoints, pub/sub message brokers) and data stores (SQL and NoSQL) to optimise for speed, cost and efficiency
Ensuring services are tested, documented, performant, and capable of handling large amounts of traffic
Utilise third-party or cloud-first technologies (e.g. app configuration, service bus, Azure OpenAI search)

Skills and Experience

Technical Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience in writing applications/services in C#
  • Strong database skills (SQL and/or NoSQL)
  • Experience in version control (GIT), CI processes, and build/deploy tools
  • A demonstrable understanding of the importance of writing secure code
  • Automated debug and unit test skills
  • Experience with cloud platforms, in particular Microsoft Azure desirable
  • Knowledge of multiple methods of secure communication between systems (e.g. REST, RPC, pub/sub pattern) is desirable
