Job Description

We’re seeking a Senior Data Scientist who combines hands-on technical expertise with a passion for mentoring and enabling others to grow.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of problem-solving and people development—and who is motivated by building systems and teams that endure.

Why Join Us?

We’re transforming the way complex projects are delivered—putting data, AI, and purposeful innovation at the heart of everything we do. Our work spans government, infrastructure, defence, and industry, where we design solutions that make projects smarter, more efficient, and more human-centred.

We foster a collaborative, supportive culture built on diverse perspectives, psychological safety, and the belief that everyone should have the space to thrive. As a remote-first team, we balance flexibility with connection through quarterly in-person events where we come together to share, learn, and celebrate progress.

In this role, you will:

  • Build advanced analytics and AI solutions that drive measurable impact
  • Shape technical strategy across architecture, data models, and reusability
  • Lead by example in fostering a culture of curiosity, inclusivity, and excellence
  • Partner with clients to ensure insights are accessible, actionable, and trusted

What You’ll Do as Senior Data Scientist

  • Design and deliver machine learning, AI, and advanced analytics solutions
  • Influence architecture choices involving LLMs, graph databases, and intelligent agents
  • Champion code quality, reproducibility, and engineering best practices
  • Mentor and coach colleagues, supporting both technical growth and confidence
  • Collaborate with clients to frame challenges, test ideas, and communicate findings clearly
  • Contribute to the evolution of our platforms, including Project Brain and Marvin
  • Embed responsible AI practices and ensure compliance in all development
  • Encourage reusability, open approaches, and shared learning across teams

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who values clarity, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Essential

  • 5+ years in applied data science, analytics, or machine learning
  • Strong Python skills with core ML/data libraries
  • Experience with cloud platforms (ideally Azure) and MLOps workflows
  • Familiarity with semantic models, ontologies, or graph databases (e.g. Neo4j)
  • Experience mentoring and fostering a supportive learning culture
  • Ability to explain complex technical ideas in clear, accessible ways
  • Awareness of AI governance, ethics, and responsible development

Desirable

  • Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, vector stores, or agent frameworks
  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL, FastAPI, or modern backend development
  • Background in infrastructure, engineering, or project delivery data
  • Familiarity with agile product management and iterative delivery
  • Interest in open source and community-led innovation

What We Offer

  • Salary: £65,000–£75,000 (depending on experience)
  • Remote-first role with flexible working hours
  • Quarterly in-person team events
  • An inclusive, supportive culture where your voice matters
  • Family-friendly practices and a focus on wellbeing
  • Clear growth pathways and leadership opportunities
  • Pension scheme and performance-related bonus
  • Regular learning sessions, hackathons, and demos
  • Opportunities to contribute to open, reusable solutions with real-world impact

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, and we are especially keen to hear from those underrepresented in data and technology. You don’t need to meet every requirement to apply. If this role excites you and reflects your values, we encourage you to apply and help us shape a future where data enables better decisions, better delivery, and better outcomes.
