Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain robust software applications using technologies such as JavaScript, Java, C#, Python, C++, Ruby on Rails, and C.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable software solutions.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance existing applications to improve functionality, reliability, security, and performance.
- Design, develop, and maintain APIs to facilitate effective communication and integration between software systems.
- Use version control platforms and tools, including Git, GitHub, and SVN (Subversion), to support effective collaboration and maintain code quality.
- Develop and deploy applications using cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Design and optimise database interactions by writing efficient SQL queries for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other relational database systems.
- Develop and enhance front-end functionality with a strong focus on usability, accessibility, performance, and user experience.
- Integrate third-party applications and services using RESTful APIs and other appropriate integration technologies.
- Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, testing, and continuous integration processes to maintain high development standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and technical practices.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong programming experience with one or more of the following: JavaScript, Java, C#, Python, C++, Ruby on Rails, and C.
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and modern software development methodologies.
- Practical experience with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, or SVN.
- Familiarity with cloud computing and deployment platforms, particularly AWS and Azure.
- Knowledge of relational database systems and SQL, including MySQL and tools such as MySQL Workbench.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and integrating software systems.
- Experience working with Linux operating systems in development or deployment environments.
- Understanding of front-end development principles and techniques for creating effective, user-friendly interfaces.
- Knowledge of the .NET Framework and its application in scalable enterprise software development.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative technical team.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with VBA scripting for automation and integration within Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with multiple programming languages, development frameworks, or cloud environments.
- Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD practices, and modern DevOps principles.
