- Collaborate with cross-functional developers to deliver secure and high-performance features
- Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions
- Take ownership of projects from planning and estimation through development, testing, and deployment
- Troubleshoot and debug real-world production issues using logs, investigation, and thorough testing
- Review and provide constructive feedback on pull requests to maintain code quality across the team
- Work on both legacy systems and greenfield projects, refactoring where needed
- Deliver robust, production-ready code without cutting corners
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of professional experience writing and maintaining PHP applications
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and SOLID principles
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and back-end systems
- Solid knowledge of secure coding practices and performance optimisation
- Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with Git Version Control, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong problem-solving and software design skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a growing development team
- Comfortable working in a hybrid or remote environment
- UK work authorisation required
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Docker and containerised development environments
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms
- Experience with headless CMS platforms or content APIs
- Basic front-end awareness and understanding of UI implementation challenges
