As a Senior Laravel Developer, you will play a key role in developing and improving a large Laravel-based marketplace application used by millions of users.
Working within a small agile development team, you will contribute to backend architecture, database design, API integrations, and performance optimisation.
This role would suit a Laravel Developer who enjoys solving complex problems, working with large datasets, and building scalable backend systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend systems as a Senior Laravel Developer
- Help modernise and improve an existing Laravel application
- Build scalable backend services using Laravel and PHP frameworks
- Work with large data sets and complex MySQL / MariaDB databases
- Integrate and maintain external APIs such as Stripe, Google, AWS, and OpenAI
- Implement backend solutions, including data caching and job queues
- Collaborate with other developers within a small agile Laravel development team
- Continuously improve system performance, scalability, and maintainability
Required Skills & Experience:
To succeed in this role, you will have strong backend development experience and a passion for building robust systems.
Essential experience:
- At least 2 years of Laravel development experience
- Minimum 5 years working with framework-based languages (Laravel or similar)
- Strong experience with SQL, MySQL or MariaDB database design
- Experience working with large datasets or big data environments
- Experience integrating multiple APIs such as Stripe, Google, AWS or OpenAI
- Understanding of backend concepts, including caching, queues and scalable architecture
