Job Description

Join us as our AWS AI Consultant. We are looking for an AWS AI Consultant to join our growing team.

As an AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner, we help organisations design, build, and scale AI solutions on AWS. We work across a wide range of industries, delivering everything from generative AI applications to cloud modernisation and data-driven innovation.

We've successfully delivered projects for 100+ AWS customers and work closely with AWS teams both in the UK and globally. As demand for AI continues to grow, AWS regularly introduces customers to our company for specialist consulting and implementation support.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of AI, helping customers turn cutting-edge technologies into real business value.

The Role

You'll work across a diverse range of customer engagements, typically lasting between one and four weeks, although some strategic projects run longer. Most engagements involve one or two consultants working closely with the customer.

Your work will include:

  • Designing and building generative AI applications using AWS AI services, particularly Amazon Bedrock, including foundation model selection, Bedrock Agents, and Bedrock Knowledge Bases.
  • Designing and implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
  • Conducting AI assessments to identify and prioritise high-value AI use cases.
  • Building multimodal AI applications that enhance existing business processes.
  • Developing agentic AI workflows that orchestrate models, tools and data sources to automate complex tasks.
  • Customising and fine-tuning foundation models while applying prompt engineering, evaluation techniques and optimisation strategies for accuracy, safety and cost.
  • Implementing responsible AI practices, including guardrails, evaluation pipelines, monitoring and human-in-the-loop review.
  • Building and deploying machine learning solutions with Amazon SageMaker, alongside the MLOps pipelines that support them.
  • Creating AWS infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Conducting AWS Well-Architected Reviews for AI and ML workloads, including the Generative AI Lens and Machine Learning Lens, producing reports and remediating High-Risk Issues.
  • Working with AWS

As an AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner, we work closely with AWS across technical, commercial and partner programmes. Alongside customer delivery, you'll also contribute to activities including:

Studying for and maintaining AWS certifications. We expect consultants to achieve and maintain AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer – Associate and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, progressing towards AWS Certified Machine Learning – Speciality. If you don't already hold these certifications, we'll provide the time, support and training to achieve them.
Preparing applications for AWS funding London SW9 programmes, including Proof of Concepts, the Well-Architected Partner Program and the Migration Acceleration Program.
Supporting applications for AWS Competencies and Service Delivery; currently holds the Generative AI, SMB, DevOps and Nonprofit Consulting Competencies, alongside multiple AWS Service Delivery validations, with

Further AI-focused validations planned.

  • Collaborating with AWS Solutions Architects and Account Managers.
  • Representing us at AWS and industry events, including conferences and exhibitions.
  • Speaking at conferences and community events.
  • Writing customer case studies, technical articles and thought leadership content.

Who We're Looking For:

Technical skills matter, but we hire primarily for aptitude, curiosity and attitude.

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving difficult problems, communicates exceptionally well, and learns quickly. AI evolves at an extraordinary pace, and the ability to continually learn is one of the most important qualities for success in this role.

Right to Work

  • While we'd love to welcome talent from around the world, we're currently unable to sponsor visas. Applicants must already have the permanent right to work in the UK.

What Matters Most

  • Excellent communication
  • You can explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. You build strong relationships with customers and colleagues through clear communication and active listening.
  • Rapid learning
  • You're naturally curious, enjoy learning new technologies, and adapt quickly in a fast-changing environment.
  • Problem-solving
  • You enjoy analysing complex challenges, thinking logically, and finding practical solutions.
  • Ownership and motivation
  • You're proactive, self-motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality work that creates real value for customers.

Your Background - You'll ideally have:

  • A 2:1 degree or above in a technical subject.
  • Experience with cloud computing, preferably AWS.
  • Experience in three or more of the following areas:
  • Building applications with foundation models such as Anthropic Claude or OpenAI GPT, preferably using Amazon Bedrock.
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings and vector databases such as Amazon OpenSearch, Aurora pgvector or Amazon Kendra.
  • Prompt engineering, model evaluation and techniques for improving the accuracy, safety and efficiency of LLM applications.
  • Agentic AI systems and tool-using workflows.
  • Machine learning using Amazon SageMaker and associated MLOps practices.
  • Data engineering and visualisation with Amazon Redshift and Amazon QuickSight.
  • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
  • Containerising Python, Node.js, PHP or .NET applications using Docker on Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS or AWS Elastic Beanstalk.
  • Assessing AI workloads and AWS infrastructure for performance, reliability, security and cost optimisation.

You do not need AWS certifications when applying. However, you'll be expected to achieve the AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer – Associate and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certifications during your first year.

A strong software engineering background is highly desirable. Much of our work is written in Python, and many of our AI solutions are developed using Python-based frameworks.

If you've built interesting AI applications using LLMs or foundation models, we'd love to hear about them.

Benefits

  • £50,000–£80,000 salary, depending on experience.
  • Performance-based bonus scheme.
  • 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays.
  • Excellent work-life balance.
  • Flexible hybrid working, combining remote work with our London office.
  • Annual budget for professional development, training and AWS certifications.
  • The opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI projects with a supportive, highly skilled team.
  • Quarterly company socials.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Company pension.
  • Casual dress.
