Highly skilled Android Developer with deep expertise in native Android development (Java/Kotlin) to join our growing development team. You’ll play a key role in enhancing and evolving our flagship VoIP (Voice over IP) telephony application, which integrates tightly with the Android platform using TelecomManager for native call handling, push notifications, and real-time communication features.

Our current tech stack includes Angular and CapacitorJS, allowing us to bridge web-based applications with native functionality through custom Capacitor plugins. As our Mobile Android Developer / Expert, you will focus on building and refining native Android components while also contributing to our cross-platform strategy.

While Android will be your core focus, we’re looking for someone eager to broaden their horizons, including learning iOS development and working across related technologies as needed.

Native Mobile Developer Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test new Android features aligned with our product roadmap and evolving market needs.
• Maintain and optimise existing mobile codebases and architecture for performance and reliability.
• Develop and integrate CapacitorJS plugins to enable advanced native functionality.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, investigate performance bottlenecks, and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, and product managers to deliver features from concept to deployment.
• Contribute to automation, CI/CD pipelines, and ongoing process improvement initiatives.
• Produce and maintain clear documentation for technical processes, systems, and procedures.
• Mentor team members and share knowledge to support skill development across the team.

Mobile Developer Skills & Experience Required:

• 5+ years of hands-on Android development experience using Java and/or Kotlin.
• Proven ability to deploy and manage apps in the Google Play Store.
• Strong understanding of push notifications, real-time communication, and lock screen mechanics.
• Familiarity with Android TelecomManager, ConnectionService, and native audio libraries.
• Experience integrating with CI/CD pipelines for mobile app development.
• Solid version control experience using Git.
• In-depth understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and coding best practices.
• Strong debugging skills with familiarity using Android diagnostic tools.
• Experience working in an Agile environment (e.g., sprints, stand-ups, retrospectives).

Native Mobile Developer Desirables:

• Experience developing CapacitorJS plugins.
• Knowledge of TypeScript and hybrid mobile app development.
• Exposure to iOS development or willingness to learn.
• Familiarity with VoIP-related technologies or real-time communications is a strong plus.
