An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior C# & React Full Stack Developer to join a Belfast-based trading house operating across energy, commodities, equities and other global financial markets.

This is a senior, hands-on engineering position working exceptionally closely with the Front Office trading desk to help design and build a greenfield trading system.

You’ll be involved across the full development lifecycle, from architecture and technical design through hands-on development, testing, and deployment. There will also be opportunities to provide technical leadership and help shape engineering standards as the platform evolves.

The opportunity

What makes this role particularly interesting is the combination of Front Office trading technology and SaaS product development.

The business develops applications for its internal traders while also offering its technology externally as a SaaS product. This gives engineers direct exposure to traders and financial markets while working within a modern, product-focused FinTech delivery environment.

You’ll build high-performance trading applications using modern C#, React, and TypeScript, used by both internal Front Office teams and external customers.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior C# & React Full Stack Developer, you will:

• Design, develop, test and deploy modern full-stack trading applications.
• Build responsive, event-driven user interfaces using React and TypeScript.
• Develop scalable backend services and processes using C#/.NET.
• Work directly with traders and Front Office stakeholders to understand requirements and turn them into effective technical solutions.
• Contribute to the architecture and technical direction of greenfield systems.
• Produce maintainable, testable and high-quality software.
• Participate in architectural and design decisions throughout the development lifecycle.
• Help establish and maintain engineering best practices.
• Contribute to modern CI/CD and DevOps processes.
• Provide technical leadership and support to other engineers.
• Introduce new ideas, technologies and approaches where they can improve the platform.

Experience required

We’re looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer with:

• 6+ years' commercial software development experience.
• Strong commercial experience with C#/.NET backend development.
• Strong commercial experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Proven experience designing and developing event-driven user interfaces.
• Experience building backend services, APIs and processes.
• Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or equivalent database technologies.
• Good understanding of modern CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
• A methodical approach to software architecture and system design.
• The ability to select appropriate design patterns and technical approaches for different projects.
• Previous experience providing technical or team leadership.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with both technical teams and Front Office/business stakeholders.

Previous experience within trading, investment banking, hedge funds, financial markets or FinTech would be advantageous, but strong senior engineers from other technically demanding environments are also encouraged to apply.
