The primary role of the Junior Data Developer is to support the Business Intelligence (BI) team in delivering contractual reports, producing ad-hoc reports for the wider CSS pillars, and administering the Data Warehouse server. This position will act as the subject matter expert (SME) for data sources and platforms within the team.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the BI team.
- Maintain and develop the data warehouse, including scripts, queries, and packages.
- Manage users and licences on BI platforms and cloud environments.
- Document BI processes thoroughly and accurately.
- Deputise for the Business Analyst during leave or critical Data Warehouse/MI cloud platform meetings.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by developing strategies to enhance business efficiencies in data integrity, testing, and reporting.
- Maintain, develop, document, and improve reporting tools.
- Deliver ad-hoc reporting for BI, CSS, and associated stakeholders.
- Ensure contractual MI reporting obligations are met.
- Work collaboratively with customers, CSS, Leidos, and other stakeholders.
- Provide user training on BI platforms and reports.
- Support TL MI activities to drive customer satisfaction.

Essential:
- Advanced Excel skills.
- SQL script writing skills.
- Knowledge of cloud-based systems.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills with both stakeholders and customers.
Desirable:
- Understanding of MOD systems and data.
- Degree in a relevant technology or computing discipline.

Security Clearance Requirement:
Applicants must be eligible for Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance. This includes verification of identity, right to work in the UK, employment history, and a basic criminal records check for unspent convictions. Candidates must have resided in the UK for at least 3 years to meet BPSS eligibility.
