Python Developer (ID: tvcaoRGs)

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to design, develop, test and maintain in-house business applications within a Windows environment.

Reporting to the Head of IT and working with the relevant Project Manager for each assignment, you will initially focus on developing a bespoke application that connects our inventory management, replenishment and third-party logistics systems.

The position requires strong PHP and Python development skills, together with experience working with SQL Server. Previous experience with inventory management, warehouse, retail or ecommerce systems would be a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to develop a bespoke SQL Server-based application that bridges gaps between MUJI’s existing inventory management system, replenishment platform and third-party logistics warehouse.

The application will be used by store managers and Head Office teams to:

• Create and maintain accurate stock reservations.
• Consolidate replenishment orders from multiple sources.
• Validate orders before passing them to downstream systems.
• Improve visibility and control across stock-management processes.
• Integrate with Microsoft Excel to provide a practical and familiar user experience.

You will take ownership of the application’s detailed design, including its user interface and overall user experience.

Additional responsibilities and future projects may include:

• Expanding the application to provide greater integration between replenishment systems.
• Improving the usability and efficiency of existing internal systems.
• Developing and integrating web applications within MUJI’s BigCommerce environment.
• Supporting omnichannel initiatives involving MUJI’s new Odoo point-of-sale system.
• Contributing to future CRM projects.
• Providing occasional guidance and support to junior developers.

Essential Skills and Experience

• At least five years’ professional software-development experience.
• At least two years’ commercial experience working with PHP and Python.
• Strong SQL Server development skills.
• Experience designing, developing, testing and maintaining business applications.
• Experience developing applications within a Windows environment.
• A practical understanding of Windows IIS.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work directly with system users to understand requirements and resolve design issues.
• Experience conducting user testing and providing ongoing application support.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
• A methodical approach to development, documentation and quality assurance.
• The ability to follow MUJI’s standards and guidelines to maintain consistency across applications and digital assets.
