An award-winning, world-leading developer of virtual production solutions, camera robotics and real-time tracking technology for the film, high-end television (HETV) and broadcast industries. We're looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative products at the forefront of virtual production technology. As part of a collaborative Agile team, you'll help design and develop embedded software that powers next-generation camera tracking systems, robotic platforms and precision motion control solutions used across the global film and broadcast industry.

The Role:

Working alongside our Electronics, Mechanical and Software Engineering teams, you'll develop high-quality embedded firmware from concept through to production and long-term maintenance. You'll play a key role in solving complex technical challenges while contributing to products that are shaping the future of filmmaking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain embedded firmware for new and existing products using C and C++.
  • Collaborate closely with electronics, mechanical and software engineers throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Produce efficient, reliable and maintainable code while participating in peer code reviews.
  • Support projects from initial concept through deployment and ongoing product improvements.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Contribute ideas and technical solutions that drive product innovation.

About You:

You'll be an enthusiastic engineer with a passion for embedded systems and solving challenging technical problems. You enjoy working collaboratively while taking ownership of your work and continually improving your skills.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Commercial experience developing embedded software and firmware in C and C++.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics or a related discipline.
  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
  • Experience working with communication interfaces, including:
  • SPI
  • I²C
  • USB
  • UART
  • RS232 / RS485
  • Ethernet
  • CAN Bus
  • Understanding of PCB electronics and embedded hardware.
  • Proven ability to deliver robust, high-quality products.
  • Desirable Experience
  • STM32 microcontrollers.
  • Mbed OS.
  • Motor control systems and PID control.
  • Robotics, automation or precision motion control systems.
