Job Description

We’re looking for a capable, hands-on Graduate Software Developer who enjoys solving real problems and building high-quality features. You’ll join a friendly Agile team with clear project boundaries within our wider platform, giving you real ownership while still collaborating closely across the development lifecycle.

  • Day-to-day, you’ll implement new features in a collaborative Agile environment, writing maintainable, testable code and contributing to a shared commitment to long-term product quality. You’ll build and test new functionality, fix bugs, improve performance, and contribute to our automated test suite, with mentorship from senior staff. You’ll also review work from your teammates in a supportive, constructive way that maintains quality without slowing momentum.
  • You’ll work closely with developers, designers, testers and other teams, taking part in regular sprint ceremonies and showcasing your work in reviews. The team encourages ideas and continuous improvement. You’ll have space to contribute to how we design, build and ship our software.
  • You’ll gain exposure across the full software development lifecycle, from requirement refinement and design to coding, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
  • Your work will support highways authorities and utility companies across the UK, helping them manage essential infrastructure safely, efficiently and in line with complex real-world regulations. You’ll take responsibility for your work, with the full support of senior developers and mentors.

We are looking for a Graduate Software Developer who has

  • Computing-related degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication and willingness to learn
  • Problem-solving mindset and collaborative working style
  • Basic knowledge of at least one object-oriented language
  • Understanding of source control
  • Familiarity with good testing practices
  • Someone proactive, curious and comfortable taking responsibility for their work

This role follows a hybrid pattern, with your team day on alternating Tuesdays at our Dunstable office. We work within core hours, with flexibility around how you structure the rest of your day. Attendance is also required for annual company-wide meetings.

The Company does not sponsor foreign nationals, so you must have the permanent right to live and work long-term in the UK. You must also be able to commute to our Dunstable, Bedfordshire office at least once a fortnight.

Graduate Software Developer Career Development:

During your first 3–6 months, you’ll receive structured onboarding, regular mentoring from experienced developers, and opportunities to learn our architecture and domain.

We offer quarterly training opportunities, and mentorship is embedded in how we work. As you grow your skills, you’ll be supported toward stepping into the Software Developer role, typically within two years, depending on your progress and readiness.

From there, you’ll have clear paths to roles such as Senior Developer, Architect, or leadership positions as your career develops.
