Job Description

Our Data Science function, now in its tenth year, operates across the Constellation Automotive Group. We build data products and services that power everything from vehicle valuation and commercial pricing to marketing, personalisation, and operational optimisation—including stock selection, delivery routing, and refurbishment planning.

We’re proud to foster an inclusive and supportive workplace and welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, including people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent individuals, parents and carers, and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

We’re more than a vehicle remarketing company. We’re the backbone of the UK automotive supply chain and Europe’s largest remarketing business—helping customers, partners, and colleagues succeed at scale.

The Role:

Buying a car is rarely a single click. It begins with curiosity—researching vehicles, comparing options, exploring finance, and engaging across websites, social platforms, and advertising channels.

In this role, you’ll analyse and model these journeys to understand what drives customer decisions, turning data into smarter marketing investment and highly personalised customer experiences that increase retail orders.

Our Marketing & Personalisation models play a critical role across the Constellation Automotive Group, helping teams understand attribution, customer behaviour, and campaign effectiveness. There’s still plenty of room to innovate, and we’re looking for a Data Scientist ready to help shape the future of automotive marketing.

You’ll join a highly experienced team of Data Scientists, Digital Analytics specialists, and MLOps engineers, contributing across the full machine learning lifecycle—from stakeholder collaboration and model development to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement in production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Data Science, Digital Marketing, Digital Analytics, Product, MLOps, and Data Engineering
  • Develop and enhance marketing and personalisation models to improve accuracy, insight, and business impact
  • Deploy scalable, robust, and well-monitored solutions aligned with engineering best practices
  • Integrate model outputs into decision-making tools used by marketing and commercial teams
  • Actively contribute to team knowledge-sharing, experimentation, and constructive challenge
  • Help shape the product roadmap in line with business goals and stakeholder needs

Skills & Experience (Essential)

  • Strong experience with Python and SQL
  • 2–3 years’ experience applying Data Science in marketing or digital marketing, including:
  • Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM)
  • Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA)
  • Forecasting
  • Recommender systems
  • Customer segmentation
  • Solid grounding in statistical modelling and econometrics (e.g. regression, time series, causal inference)
  • Good understanding of the digital marketing ecosystem, channels, and customer journey analytics
  • Experience with B2C personalisation strategies that drive retail outcomes
  • Ability to translate model outputs into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Experience deploying models into production using MLOps practices (e.g. version control, CI/CD)
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to clean, well-tested code
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Databricks, Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to understand business context
  • Curious, collaborative, and self-motivated mindset

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience designing and analysing A/B tests
  • Experience building or working with APIs
  • Familiarity with agile and collaborative development practices (e.g. peer reviews, sprint planning)

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Onsite parking
  • Company pension scheme
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave
  • Access to trained Mental Health First Aiders
  • Rewards with discounts across major retailers

As the automotive industry evolves, so do we—putting our people firmly in the driving seat. We’re number one for a reason: our people. If you want to join a business that values your expertise, supports your growth, and recognises your impact, we’d love to hear from you.

We are proud to be a Level 1 Disability Confident Employer and is committed to an inclusive, accessible recruitment process. We are an equal opportunities employer and do not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, religion, belief, or disability.
