Python Backend Software Engineer (ID: IhoAEVr3)

Python Engineer (Freelance) Experienced Python Engineers to support high-impact research collaborations with leading AI labs. In this role, you’ll help advance AI systems by building and refining coding benchmarks that mirror real-world software development across diverse domains and programming languages.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and validate Python coding benchmarks using real-world repositories
• Curate realistic issues, reference solutions, and robust test suites
• Ensure benchmarks include thorough unit and integration tests for reliable evaluation
• Maintain consistency, quality, and scalability across benchmark task distributions
• Provide clear, structured feedback on solution correctness, performance, and clarity
• Debug, optimise, and document benchmark code to ensure reproducibility and long-term reliability

What We’re Looking For

• 3–10 years of experience as a backend engineer, ML engineer, or applied data scientist
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with debugging, testing, and code validation
• Excellent technical writing skills and strong attention to detail

Project Details

Start: Immediate

• Duration: 1 month
• Time Commitment: Part-time (15–20 hours per week)
• Work Style: Fully remote, asynchronous, and flexible

Compensation & Contract

• £59.00 Per/hour plus a substantial bonus per approved task
• Each task takes approximately 1 hour
• Median effective pay (including bonuses):  £148 Per/hour
• Independent contractor role
• Daily payments via Stripe Connect
