A Central London project team needs a Senior DevOps Engineer who is comfortable with complex infrastructure work: cloud, VMware, Linux, Windows, containers, networks, and all the joins between them. The DevOps engineer role requires someone who can make decisions and keep a critical customer platform in good shape.
The platform spans AWS, Microsoft Azure, and on-premises infrastructure. Some days are architecture days. Some are about calm judgement when production is under pressure. You will also help junior engineers improve through reviews, mentoring, and straight technical guidance.
Where will you spend your time:
The DevOps Engineer will steer infrastructure design, build new capabilities, and improve what is already live. Both cloud and on-premises sit within this scope. Security, resilience, performance, and cost require early attention, as late fixes are rarely tidy.
Automation matters.
Pipelines, manual toil, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab: they all come with the job. When production gets messy, the team will look to you to help untangle it. Root cause analysis is also part of the job, along with fixes.
There is customer contact too. You will speak with customers and internal stakeholders, define infrastructure requirements, and explain technical options clearly. No hiding behind diagrams when the room needs plain answers.
The role includes a scheduled out-of-hours production support rota. Expect travel to data centres and offices around three to four times per month.

What is on offer:
The package includes hybrid working with genuine flexibility, a supportive team culture, technical leadership scope, and room to progress. Training, certifications, and development are available across a broad mix of technologies.
The projects carry national significance and high impact.
