We are looking for an experienced Azure Data / DevOps Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will design, build, and support secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud-based data solutions within Microsoft Azure. You'll work on enterprise-scale data platforms, leveraging modern cloud technologies, automation, and DevOps practices to deliver reliable, data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and other Azure-native services.
- Build, optimise, and support Azure-based data warehouses and data lakes, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Develop and maintain database solutions across Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle, applying best practices in database design and optimisation.
- Automate deployment, maintenance, and operational processes using Bash, Shell Scripting, PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages.
- Implement and support big data solutions using technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Apache Hive, and Informatica.
- Collaborate with data engineers, developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver robust reporting and analytics solutions.
- Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve system reliability and efficiency.
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation following DevOps best practices.
- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and data protection standards.
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone with:
- Proven experience as an Azure Data Engineer, Data DevOps Engineer, or similar cloud engineering role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory and related data services.
- Experience working with AWS is advantageous.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java.
- Practical experience with big data technologies including Apache Spark, Hadoop, Apache Hive, and Informatica.
- Extensive SQL expertise with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle, including database design and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL/ELT processes, and modern data architectures.
- Experience writing automation scripts using Bash, Shell Scripting, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages.
- Knowledge of DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD, source control, and infrastructure automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and within collaborative teams.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, or Bicep).
- Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Microsoft Azure certifications.
