As our Analytics Engineer, you will play a vital role in delivering scalable, reliable, and high-impact analytics solutions across the business. Reporting to the Lead Analytics Engineer, your focus will be on building integrated data models and products that empower teams to make informed, data-driven decisions.

This role bridges the gap between data engineering and business intelligence. You'll collaborate across departments, translating business questions into analytics-ready datasets powered by our Data Platform. You'll ensure data is ingested, transformed, and presented effectively—making you a trusted advisor on all things data.

Analytics Engineer  Key Responsibilities:

As we continue to grow and evolve our data capabilities, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering clean, well-tested, and transformed data models for business consumption
  • Developing impactful dashboards and data products using SQL, Power BI, MS Fabric, or Tableau
  • Maintaining and enhancing existing data pipelines and products using modern tools and technologies
  • Applying software engineering best practices (version control, CI/CD) within the analytics codebase
  • Collaborating with analytics and data science teams to deliver timely, high-quality data solutions
  • Translating stakeholder needs into actionable insights and data models
  • Promoting best practices in data visualisation and storytelling to maximise the impact of insights
  • Supporting squad-level initiatives and ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Identifying and resolving data quality and integrity issues

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in a numerate discipline (or equivalent analytical apprenticeship)
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Good understanding of ETL/ELT processes
  • Exposure to Python or another object-oriented language
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as MS Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks, Teradata, or AWS
  • Proven ability to develop insightful dashboards and reports using Power BI or Tableau
  • Comfortable managing workloads and communicating progress clearly
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to understand and translate business needs

Desirable Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, or MS Fabric
  • Understanding of commercial environments—preferably holiday lettings or travel
  • Exposure to eCommerce or digital performance analytics (web/mobile)
  • Agile/scrum team experience
  • Familiarity with tools like JIRA, GitHub, or Bitbucket

Additional Useful Skills:

  • Experience with Apache Kafka or other data streaming tools
  • Familiarity with AWS services (e.g. S3, Athena)
  • Experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS
