Experienced Full Stack Web Developer sought, with experience developing with PHP and Magento?

Are you looking for a challenge and a role that will advance, push, and build upon your skills within a team that will support, empower and help you grow and learn?

We are looking to enhance our development capability and are looking to hire an experienced Full-Stack Web Developer with expertise in designing and sustaining web and software applications. As an integral member of our development team, you will engage with diverse tools and platforms, contributing to a range of projects such as new builds, platform migrations and integration projects to name a few.

What you’ll do:

Full stack web and application development using a variety of tools, technologies and platforms to include Magento / Adobe Commerce, Laravel and others
Create robust integrations tailored to different e-commerce stores and ERP systems, utilising a variety of APIs
Collaborate with other members of the wider team to refine and prioritise new GitHub issues, ensuring that they align with project goals
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, supporting their growth and development within the project
Work with the Client Team to aid in project planning, estimating project timelines, and assessing technical requirements

You have been in a development role for “a while” and take pride in the code you write

A self-starter who is happy to create the vision, own the delivery and get code shipped
Can work quickly and flexibly, while making good technical decisions
Are a natural collaborator who enjoys working with the internal team, but also speaking with clients to clarify technical issues
Enjoy being a mentor and helping upskill junior developers
Willing to embrace all aspects of working in a growing business, from strategic thinking to creating processes and instigating best practices
Have respectable academic qualifications - A levels or equivalent or a University Degree (BSc or Master's) in Computer Science or Software Engineering

Skills and Experience

  • Solid experience of writing quality, readable, maintainable and scalable code - 5 years or more
  • Strong full-stack experience using JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Vue, AlpineJS, or others
  • Experience with platforms and frameworks such as Magento, Joomla, Laravel, Symfony, Codeigniter, Yii, CakePHP, Drupal, WordPress, etc.
  • PHP development experience and related technologies (MySQL, Linux, Apache, nginx, Elasticsearch)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Expert at using git source control
  • Experience with Docker and Docker Compose
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Desirable Skills and experience (Keen interest in learning and developing in this space)

  • Linux systems admin exposure or experience/ with infrastructure / DevOps
  • CI/CD technologies and processes
  • Web security
  • SaaS platform experience, such as Shopify
  • eCommerce knowledge and experience
  • Agency experience

Currently, we all work remotely however, we have regular team meetups four times a month in Birmingham. These include team collaboration days, work hacks and social outings. Working together and spending time with each other is important to all of us, so in the future we will keep meeting up.
