In this role, you’ll design, build, and maintain high-quality websites and web applications, contributing to engaging and impactful digital experiences. You’ll work across a variety of projects, using modern tools and technologies, while balancing strong technical skills with a keen eye for user experience and visual design. A solid background in both front-end and back-end development is essential, along with experience in contemporary frameworks, databases, and deployment processes.
Web Developer Key Responsibilities:
- Build, test, and deploy responsive websites and applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
- Create intuitive user interfaces and enhance user experience through wireframing and prototyping
- Develop server-side functionality using frameworks like Django, ASP.NET, Node.js, Ruby on Rails, or Spring
- Manage and optimise databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server, or SQLite
- Integrate third-party APIs and develop RESTful or GraphQL services
- Use version control tools such as Git or SVN and collaborate via platforms like Jira or Trello
- Support deployment processes using tools like Jenkins or Ansible, and manage cloud environments such as AWS or Azure
- Conduct testing and maintain code quality using best practices, including SDLC and TDD
- Document system architecture and participate in code reviews and team discussions
- Stay current with emerging technologies, including DevOps practices, responsive design, SEO, and data visualisation tools like D3.js
Wed Developer Requirements:
- Proven front-end development experience with HTML5, CSS3 (including SCSS), JavaScript/TypeScript, and frameworks such as Bootstrap, jQuery, or React Native
- Strong back-end development skills using frameworks like Django, ASP.NET (.NET), Node.js (Express), Ruby on Rails, or Spring
- Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB, including writing efficient queries
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerisation tools like Docker
- Experience integrating APIs (RESTful and SOAP)
- Understanding of system architecture and DevOps pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible)
- Proficiency with version control systems (GitHub, SVN) and project management tools (Jira, Trello)
- Ability to create responsive designs that work across devices and browsers
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and good organisational abilities
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, though practical experience is equally valued
