Job Description

We're seeking a talented and ambitious WordPress Developer to join our team. As a growing digital marketing company based in Liverpool, we specialise in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), specifically in the legal sector.

Your day-to-day duties will involve:

  • We are looking for someone with a keen interest in User Experience (UX) and Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO)
  • A large part of your tasks will involve designing attractive templates and the creation of new websites
  • Conducting changes and improvements to WordPress themes and website designs in order to improve conversion rates, accessibility and best practices.
  • You will also be encouraged to conduct experiments to try and boost conversion rates.
  • Conducting UX tests, automated tests, and content tests to identify issues and possible optimisations, and to work on them while managing time constraints.
  • Identifying issues with website speed metrics and fixing them.
  • Helping to fix technical issues that arise across our network of websites.
  • Designing and creating new websites and themes.
  • Providing support on SEO, Hosting management, and WordPress databases to colleagues.
  • Supporting the Head of SEO in any tasks that arise.

Must-Have Requirements:

  • Experience with WordPress, WordPress Plugins, Databases and Themes.
  • Experience in classic editor, block editor and new design tools like Elementor
  • Experience with website performance optimisation with a focus on the six metrics tracked in the performance section of a Lighthouse report.
  • Experience with Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO).
  • Experience conducting User Experience (UX) tests and fixes.
  • Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Great knowledge of hosting or related terminology, WordPress CMS, and CPanel.
  • Some knowledge of UI / UX, website interactivity, and web design.
  • Ability to make wireframes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).

Good To Have Requirements:

  • Ability to learn JavaScript frameworks, like ReactJS.
  • Ability to work with Python or any other programming language for data management and scripting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues without hosting access, hosting and wp-admin access, wp-admin and wp-content access.
  • The ability to make a troubleshooting trajectory fast.
  • Knowledge of version control using Git
  • Knowledge of WordPress database backups & their recoveries.

Benefits:

You'll be entitled to 28 days of annual leave per year, inclusive of bank holidays. This increases with each year of service.

We also offer flexitime and some working-from-home entitlements upon completion of your probation, though this role is predominantly office-based.
