Are you a Senior Software Developer? We are a growing in-house IT team looking for an experienced Software Developer to join us in Londonderry.

Client demand is rising, so we are putting more development capability inside the business. The work is practical and close to the operation. The systems are already live. Staff use them, clients depend on them, and your code will go into that working environment.

If you are an experienced software developer, you will feel at home here. You will work with backend services, APIs, Angular applications, integrations, automation and cloud-ready infrastructure. Some days will be new build work. Other days will be about making an existing workflow faster, cleaner or easier for people to use.

Software Developer Role:

Part of the job is keeping live systems in good shape. Part of it is new functionality, third-party connections, and technical work that comes in as client needs change.
Expect to work with C#, ASP.NET Core, APIs, Angular, SQL queries, webhooks, imports, exports, scheduled jobs and automation. It is a proper mix. You will be speaking to people inside the business, often the ones who know exactly where a process is slowing them down.

This is a small agile team, so the work is varied. You might be refining an API one morning, looking at a data process after lunch, then helping shape a new client requirement before the end of the day.

Core Skills: We are looking for strong hands-on experience with:

•  C# and ASP.NET Core API development
•  TypeScript and Angular
• SQL databases and query writing

A solid background in C#, SQL and TypeScript is essential. Many of the other tools we use can be picked up quickly by an experienced software developer who is comfortable learning through practical work.

Useful extra skills:

These would help, although we would not rule out a strong developer who has not used all of them:

• Message-based distributed systems
• MassTransit or RabbitMQ
• Docker
• MongoDB
• PowerShell scripting
• API Gateway technologies, including Ocelot
• Hangfire or similar background task frameworks
• JSON, webhooks, API integrations and import or export processes

If you have worked with production systems, integrations or operational platforms before, that would be beneficial.

Who will do well here?

You need to be able to pick up a problem, think it through, and make progress without waiting for every detail to be handed over. Some work will be backend. Some will be frontend. You will also need to ask clear questions and explain technical points in plain terms when the audience is not technical.
Nobody is expecting you to arrive knowing every tool we use. What matters is a strong development base, sound judgement, and enough confidence to work on your own when the task calls for it.
We are after someone who can get moving without too much fuss but still fit into a small team. .

Salary and benefits:

The salary range is £60,000 to £70,000 a year. The final offer depends on experience.
