We’re looking for a skilled Web Developer to join a fast-growing, forward-thinking financial services business that builds and maintains its own proprietary systems — from internal back-office solutions to client-facing applications.
This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys owning features end-to-end, working across modern and legacy technology stacks, and contributing to meaningful business transformation projects.
You’ll be involved in the full development lifecycle — requirements, design, coding, testing, deployment, documentation, and support — with a strong emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and continuous improvement. You’ll work directly with our CTO and collaborate closely with teams across operations, compliance, and administration to deliver high-impact solutions.
Essential Skills
- C# / .NET (6+): Dependency Injection, Web API
- Experience with .NET Framework 4.x / WebForms
- SQL Server / T-SQL: Query optimisation, indexing, performance tuning
- TypeScript / React: Component reusability, state management
- Auth & Security: OAuth2 / OIDC for securing SPA and APIs
- Azure (hands-on): App Service, Functions, Logic Apps, SQL, Storage, Key Vault, App Configuration, Application Insights, networking fundamentals
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps, configuration and secret management
Desirable Skills
- Firebase (authentication, hosting, Firestore)
- React Native (mobile app development)
- Exposure to Azure AI Foundry or AI orchestration tools
- Experience migrating legacy systems to modern architectures
- Entra ID (OAuth2) and secure Azure networking / VNET setup
- Twilio API integration
- Industry experience in financial services, particularly retirement or custodial platforms
- Familiarity with the Seccl API
Web Developer Key Responsibilities

- Support Azure cloud infrastructure (App Service, Functions, Azure SQL, Storage, Key Vault, App Configuration, Private Endpoints, Application Insights)
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing, and code quality initiatives
- Perform thorough peer reviews and testing
Data & Performance
- Write performance-conscious, SARGable SQL queries and manage indexing
- Monitor and optimise Azure SQL database performance
- Documentation & Compliance
- Produce clear technical documentation, training materials, and architecture diagrams
- Contribute to due diligence and security testing documentation (data flows, controls)
Support
- Triage and resolve support tickets related to in-house and client-facing applications
- Use Azure Application Insights and logs for troubleshooting and incident response
- Requirements Gathering
- Work with stakeholders to define clear problem statements and technical requirements
- Translate business needs into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
Team & Collaboration
- Work within a small, motivated, and high-performing team
- Partner closely with the hands-on CTO
- Maintain strong communication with business teams to deliver on-time, high-quality projects
- Working Environment
- Location: Office-based in Doncaster (occasional remote work available)
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:30 (flexible within reason to meet delivery goals)
Benefits
- Competitive salary (dependent on experience)
- 24 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)
- Company pension scheme
- Free on-site parking
- Company events and social activities
- Flexibility on working hours (to support project milestones)
- Opportunity to own end-to-end projects in a growing, entrepreneurial environment
- Exposure to emerging technologies, including AI
Development Path
We welcome candidates who may be stronger in some areas (e.g. WebForms, C#, SQL) but eager to upskill in others, such as React or Azure. The ideal candidate is adaptable, curious, and comfortable working across both legacy and modern stacks — sometimes in the same day.
