We’re recruiting for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Portsmouth or Basingstoke.
This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours per week, with a minimum of 20% of your working time office-based. This hybrid approach supports collaboration within the data team and with colleagues across the wider business.

About the role
- We’re looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer who can combine hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership.
- You’ll help shape and evolve our modern Azure data platform, establishing reusable engineering patterns, improving standards and introducing automated delivery practices. You’ll also play an important role in improving platform performance, reliability and cost efficiency, while supporting and mentoring other engineers within the team.
- Working with technologies including Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Delta Lake, SQL, Python and PySpark, you’ll design, build and optimise secure and scalable data pipelines and trusted data products.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the business to deliver robust, production-ready data solutions.
You’ll take a leading role in developing engineering standards, CI/CD practices, automated testing and platform optimisation, helping us create a reliable, scalable and high-performing data environment.
You’ll also mentor other engineers, share best practice and contribute to the continued development of a strong and collaborative data engineering function.
Your work will directly support the delivery of excellent services to our customers while ensuring that data is managed securely, efficiently and responsibly.
