Senior Data Engineer (ID: Vj5MnemI)

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data team. Working alongside data and AI engineers, scientists, developers, analysts and architects, you’ll build data products and services that support analytics and improve experiences for our customers.

You’ll help develop our cloud data platform, strengthen the pipelines that power it and support machine learning and generative AI workflows. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to shape technical decisions and share good engineering practices across the team.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain reliable data products on our modern data platform.
• Design solutions with engineers, scientists, architects and product teams.
• Develop and optimise batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Integrate, cleanse and structure data from a range of sources.
• Maintain orchestration, monitoring, data quality and performance.
• Support infrastructure and workflows for machine learning and generative AI.
• Improve coding standards, delivery processes and data engineering practices.
• Explore emerging technologies where they can solve a practical business problem.
• Work collaboratively within agile teams.

What you’ll bring

Experience building scalable and resilient cloud data platforms.

• Strong experience with Databricks or Snowflake on AWS.
• Proficiency in Python, Spark, Airflow and advanced SQL.
• Experience with data modelling and end-to-end data integration.
• Practical experience with CI/CD, Git and Jenkins or similar tools.
• The ability to work with large, varied datasets and maintain high data quality.
• Knowledge of Terraform or another infrastructure as code tool.
• A collaborative approach and the confidence to take ownership of technical work.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or production generative AI systems would be an advantage.
