Senior Applied AI Engineer Role:

We’re looking for a Senior Applied AI Engineer to join our AI Engineering & Infrastructure team. You’ll take our latest AI-driven features from research to production, deploying at scale, strengthening our infrastructure, and ensuring robust, reliable performance in real-world legal environments. You’ll work closely with AI researchers, software engineers, and product teams to turn cutting-edge AI into impactful user-facing solutions.

Senior Applied AI Engineer Responsibilities:

• Build production-ready APIs and services that expose AI capabilities to internal and external applications.
• Improve reliability, observability, and monitoring across AI-powered systems.
• Scale AI systems for real-world legal use cases (e.g., document analysis, case predictions, automated legal guidance).
• Collaborate with AI engineers to deploy models and workflows seamlessly into production.
• Work with event-driven architectures and async workflows to process large-scale workloads efficiently.
• Ensure security and compliance across AI-driven legal services.

Requirements

• Strong Python experience building scalable backend systems.
• Solid understanding of API design and distributed systems.
• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Step Functions, etc.).
• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.).
• Strong grasp of observability, monitoring, and debugging best practices.

Nice to Have

• LLM observability & evaluation tools (e.g., Langfuse).
• Experience optimising and scaling distributed AI systems and ML Ops pipelines.
• Full-stack Typescript experience.
• Hands-on work with vector databases, hybrid retrieval, and retrieval evaluation.
• Experience with agentic or orchestrated systems (LangChain, AutoGen, Inngest, Temporal).
• Experience collaborating with researchers to productionise models and pipelines.
• Background in legal tech or familiarity with the legal industry.
