Job Description

We’re looking for an AI Engineer to join our growing Engineering team at the forefront of an exciting, fast-paced, and transformative project. At our core, we work with complex graph data (spanning over 10,000+ nodes), leveraging a mix of ML and LLM techniques to extract valuable insights and power our proprietary forecasting engine. Our goal? To drive impactful, deep human interactions and ensure everything runs smoothly, efficiently, and robustly in production. As a startup, agility is key, so you’ll thrive in our dynamic and ever-evolving environment!

The products we’re building are groundbreaking—transforming how major construction projects are planned, managed, and delivered. This is a unique opportunity to make a real-world impact with your work!

If you’re passionate about cutting-edge technology and want your contributions to change the future of construction, we’d love to tell you more about this role.

AI Engineer Overview:

This newly created position will involve working closely with our backend and frontend engineers to refine AI integration best practices, collaborating with our Experimental Research Division (nERD) and AI engineers, and engaging with the Product team to ensure we’re delivering the features our customers truly need.

As a remote-first company, we offer flexibility with the occasional travel for company offsites and team collaborations. If you're based in London, feel free to use the office space whenever it works for you.

Key Highlights:

  • Salary: £70k-100k, dependent on experience, plus an equity package
  • Flexible Work Hours & Location: Core working hours (11am-3pm UK time) Monday-Friday, with the freedom to choose where you work
  • Enhanced Benefits: Private medical insurance, unlimited holiday allowance, and enhanced family/sick leave policies
  • Company Backing: We're a fast-growing Series A startup backed by top investors, including GV (formerly Google Ventures) and Demis Hassabis (founder of DeepMind)

About Us:

Our mission is to revolutionize how construction projects are forecasted, planned, and executed. Using our deep learning technology, we forecast project outcomes with precision—helping to reduce risk and unlock significant value in infrastructure projects worldwide.

We work with some of the largest infrastructure projects on the planet, which gives us a unique opportunity to influence the world around us, from the buildings we create to the future of urban development.

Backed by top-tier investors, we’re on an ambitious growth trajectory and we’re excited to expand our team as we build toward 2025 and beyond.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prototype & Implement AI Applications: Push the boundaries of AI in the construction domain, building new features and tools that change the way projects are managed.
  • Build Core AI Infrastructure: Develop robust infrastructure that helps us rapidly build and deploy LLM applications, ensuring smooth integration with various LLM providers and our custom models.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work alongside engineers in Product and Research to bring new models to life, contributing to seamless AI-driven production environments.
  • Lead AI Best Practices: Stay ahead of AI advancements and help the company implement the latest techniques across departments, ensuring smooth AI integration across the business.
  • Feature Development: Brainstorm and implement new features while maintaining LLM pipelines for real-time inference and model training.

About You:

  • Fast-Paced, High Autonomy: You thrive in a startup environment, where you can take ownership of your projects and have the freedom to make meaningful contributions.
  • AI Enthusiast: You keep up-to-date with the latest AI trends and enjoy experimenting with new models and approaches.
  • Experience with LLMs & Generative AI: You’ve shipped LLM-based applications and have hands-on experience in evaluating LLMs and developing LLM features.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable working in Python, especially with API frameworks like FastAPI or Django.
